New DS Lite color!!

Circuit City is releasing a brand new DS Lite color-Cobalt Blue/Black. Is it not the best color DS lite ever? It looks alot sleeker and more cool than any of the past DS designs.

Right now Circuit City now has the new Ds design on pre-order sale right now.

Wow!!

It has been over a week since I have posted, that's a long time. Sorry though, I had two papers that are sons of guns to write, and I haven't had the time to work on my blog. Anyways,

This week on the Wii Virtual Console: 1080 Snowboarding for the N64. The last time that I have played this game, I sucked at it bad. Never the less though the game was still fun to watch. LOL.

Playboy is going Mobile. Hmm, I have to think about that one for a couple a minutes but what the heck, when I am old enough I might check it out.

According to my favorite game network show, Attack of the Show, the next Playstation 3 will have even bigger hard drives.

I am thinking about getting a new game for one of my systems. I have a Wii, Ps3, and a DS. Which game and which system do you think I should get. The person with the greatest review for their game will get feedback from me because I will get that game no questions asked. This 'contest' ends February 13th, two days before my birthday. Good Luck then.

Learn the Art of Kill in Assassin's Creed

Game: Assassin's Creed

Platform: PS3

Publisher: Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed, hm, what a lovely name. I just bought this game Friday and automatically fell in love with it. Be apart of a brotherhood that believes in killing ones that are evil and all traitors.

The main action of Assassin's Creed takes place during the Crusades, and in various cities in and around Israel. The story begins as you take control of an assassin called Altair. As Altair you must move around a blurred memory. You then wake up on a table called an animus where doctors are pulling memories from you. According to those doctors, they tell you that you are an assassin and you hold memories that they need. You then are encouraged to lay down on the animus and try to attempt to enter the memory strands by the locked ones once you do then the game really starts.

Playing as Altair is a blast. You can push, tackle, kick, jump, punch, and kill anybody that is around but a horde of guards will come running towards you. Also, you can scale the rooftops and dive off the top of high buildings. The most difficult part is when you get discovered to be an assassin; you have to sprint away or stand to fight which attracts more guards. The only way to stop the pursuit is to mysteriously 'vanish.' As you perform crazy stunts such as the wall climb and high dives, townsfolk will look at and murmur. Outside of cities you can ride horses and climb high towers. I suggest that you run up to a stranger and punch them, you will never experience anything close to the real thing.

The graphics are just breathtaking. Throughout many points in the game you can view the town you are in from high peaks in first person. The view point will most likely bring a tear to your eye it is so beautiful. Altair's costume is similar to Ansem's from Kingdom Hearts and Altair has the voice of Tom Cruise. During conversations you can press any button to change to the view point of the person speaking. This enhances long distance conversations and ones that you can't rotate the camera.

The most notable thing about Assassin's Creed is the battle system. What can I say? The battle is easy to enter and the weapons are a delight to use. Altair can use his fists, swords, and knives to fight guards. By pressing L1 you can target on to any enemy or guard. By pressing and holding R1 you can block attacks. I did say that the battle was great but it is also simple to, not much to say.

Assassin's Creed delivers an first hand combat experience that you will not experience in any other game. From its mysterious story to its spectacular game play, Assassin's Creed is a thrill to play.

This game deserves a bigger scale, 9/10. Although I didn't discuss its flaws, you might just turn off the game at first sight of prologue, but I don't suggest it.

Special review by SIS and Jake. Yoshi Island

Game: Yoshi's Island DS
Platform: DS
Publisher: Nintendo

Enter the world of Yoshi as you commence on the same quest as you would have in its older brother game. Yoshi DS has the right elements that give it the thrill and the extraordinary game play differs very little from the original. The difference is that it is back and even better than the last.

The functionality of the stylus is limited in this game, which sort of disappointed me. Instead, you use the control arrows to move Yoshi and the A,B,Y, and X buttons to perform actions. The main objective throughout the game is to master levels and fight toward the final boss.

The use of character choice is incorporated smoothly with this game; you can ride on the back of Yoshi as Mario, Peach, and DK. WTH?!?! Why is DK in the picture and Luigi not in the picture? Besides that, the baby characters serve important roles that help the Yoshis; Peach uses her parsol to gain access to high areas, DK can climb vines and trees, and Mario can unveil stairs when pressing the right button. The most unique quality in the original was evolved nicely into Yoshi DS. You still swallow enemies and use eggs to propel at enemies, boy what great fun!

Other than the major difference that it is for the DS, Yoshi DS differs from the original in many other ways. First, you can play more mini games and there is a convenient museum where you can look at all of the enemies that you have encountered. The top screen shows what is going up high while the touch screen is showing the game play.

What more is there to say? Yoshi DS compares greatly with its original but still the new is much different from the old. Overall, I say that the old one is better but I am just old fashioned. This game would be great for your annoying siblings that bug you about playing your game boy and great for folks that have played the original. The main audience is for casual to semi-hardcore action players. The game provides challenge and plenty of fighting, this game would be appropriate for the first time DS gamer.

4/5 This game is a enjoyable remake of Yoshi's Island and can be enjoyed by most audiences.

Here We GO!!!

Game: New Super Mario Bros.

Platform: DS

Publisher: Nintendo

Let's walk down memory lane as we think of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Wasn't it great? A true masterpiece. Now with New Super Mario Brothers, I think I can speak for all when I say that the game got better.

Unlike the original, New Super Mario Bros. has a distinctive storyline. Bowser Jr. kidnaps Peach and Mario follows. One of the most unique features of the game is the world design/level design. Each world now has multiple levels, which some are optional.

The game play is as smooth as a baby's bottom. You use the A, B, Y, and X buttons to navigate various levels. On the touch screen, there is always a progress line in the form of a timeline. Instead of just using the regular super and fire shrooms, you can also use shrooms like, the mega shroom, the tiny shroom, and the shell shroom.

One thing that makes the game so enjoyable to play is that you don't have to travel to every world, you can skip two or three and right to the eighth.

During a level, you pretty do the same thing that you would have done in the last game; fight enemies, and solve your way through puzzles and on to the flag. The use of the stylus is very obsolete and when you do need it, it will not be during the game play. If you gain more than mushroom and you can't upgrade then you can save it for when{or if} you take damage. You just touch it on the screen and voul-la!! One thing that was completely re-modified was that is was much more challenging. Launching into high heights, bouncing and moving platforms, and sneaky traps gives the game its frustrating but satisfying flavor.

Besides the single player mission, there are other optional attributes that makes you want to play the game again and again. If you and a friend want to play, you can compete for stars in an enclosed scroll screen and the one who has the most wins. Also, there is a mini games section that is always a delight to play when you get frustrated at playing the single player mode. As you complete the game, you earn more mini-games. Most mini- games require the stylus but the functions are usually comfortable to use.

When Nintendo first released this game, they bundled it with the DS Lite. I can say that the reason was to get people to buy with their DS Lite. I think their economic plan is worth falling for, get the New Super Mario Bros. bundled with your DS if you don't have one, and if you just don't have the game but have a DS, then there is something wrong with you.
5/5 This game is the younger sibling of its older masterpiece. A true joy.

I'm Back!!

I'm back, yesterday I went to see the Phantom of The Opera, that is the greatest play ever, it was so cool. I need to ask you readers something. I am doing an article about what America's future will be like if Hillary Clinton or Obama gets elected into office. Email or comment ASAP. Anyways, I will be back posting the latest of the greatest.

Enter the Dungeon of Phantom Hourglass!!

Game: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Platform: DS

Publisher: Nintendo

The latest Zelda title was honestly the best one that I have seen in a while. {except for Twilight Princess of course} It is clever in it's use of the DS touch screen and for all of you Wind Waker fans, this is the sequel which should be more than enough reason to go buy it now. The story pretty much continues from Wind Waker, Link and Tetra{excuse me if the name is incorrect} sail around the seas when a mysterious ghost ship comes in the picture, Tetra is captured and thus the adventure begins when Link wakes up on a small island.

The use of the touch screen is tricky but at the same time fun. The most common use is for you take quick notes on your map, attack, and move about. To move, just press the stylus on the desired spot on the bottom screen and Link will follow. To attack, just make a sword swipe on your screen. At most points throughout the game you can press select to bring up your map. While your map is up you can jot down notes to help you during your quest. Some of the retro weapons used like the boomerang, bow &arrow, and bombs are now more funner than ever to use with the touch screen.

Now, why is the game called Phantom Hourglass? Well, the island that Link wakes up on houses a temple that grants access to different seas. You can't enter the temple without the Phantom Hourglasss, which of course gives you a time limit.

While navigating the seas, you may come upon treasure. Most commonly you will get rupees, but sometimes you will get one minute added to your hourglass.

There is a multi player option similar to the options in Donkey Kong 64 or 007. You run around in an enclosed environment collecting jewels and then bringing them back to your safe zone while your enemy, the phantom, tries to stop you. Also there are many mini games that give you upgrades if you complete within a certain degree. There are games such as, shooting gallery, cannon shoot, and game mazes.

Phantom Hourglass is a beautiful representation of one of the first 'difficult' DS titles that has come out in long time. I wouldn't recommend this game to those who don't of course like Zelda, and don't like difficult games because there are parts of the game where you may get frustrated.

5/5 This game is a must have, but not for everybody.

Bonjour!!! My French Coach

Game: My French Coach

Platform: DS

Publisher: Ubisoft

Bonjour!! That means hello in French. How would you like to speak French? My French Coach does a pretty good job of doing that. First you can start your own profile, and you will be tested on what you already know and then ranked. There is a lady who teaches you on the top screen and then you learn on the bottom screen. After you learn the first fifty lessons, she will start to teach you random words to learn. After your lesson, you go to the games menu to play various games like word search, memory, spelling, and flashcards. To me, since I am taking French, this is a fascinating game, and it taught me alot that I didn't know. This game is more for everybody, or more of people who want to learn the french language.

On the contrary, the game gets a little boring. You will be sitting there, trying to earn enough points to advance to the next lesson when you have a sudden change of interest. For the most part though, the game is pretty entertaining. Au revior{goodbye]

4/5

Form Past to Present: Super Mario 64 DS

Game: Super Mario 64 DS

Platform: Do I need to say?

Publisher: Nintendo

What did you expect when you first picked up this game? I expected some sort of sequel but it wasn't. Instead, it was a remake, but what updates were in the game.

In Super Mario DS, you can either play as Wario, Luigi, Yoshi and of course Mario only after you save them in the castle. You must use the various cast to maneuver through the levels and collect power stars. The game felt sorta awkward. Like the movement, you had to either use the stylus or the control pad. Other disfuctions like the way you have to switch characters may make you very impatient; you have to go to the room where the slip and slide is on the second floor and walk in a door to exchange characters. This gets very annoying, especially if you have to use the character just for a minute. Instead of 120 stars in the game, there is 150. In each course, there are now seven stars{not including the coin star}. Other than that, the game is very challenging, and the courses are all still in the same place. If you are a new DS owner, I wouldn't recommend you getting this game yet. 4/5

{On the Top screen is where the action happens, the bottom is your map around the course.}

Quick Review: Mario Party DS

{Most people don't take the time to read full length reviews, so that is why I write short ones that get straight to the point. These review are based only on my opinion, if you agree otherwise, feel free to comment}

Game: Mario Party DS

Platform: Well... duh

Publisher: Nintendo

Well, when I heard the party was coming to the DS, I leaped on it and wanted it. The game isn't all that great though. First, you can only play for ten turns, and the multi player is only for the DS download play. On flip side, the mini games were enjoyable enough to where you want to play the game. Unlike the last handheld Mario Party, the party boards are similar and game play is the same.

The main objective is to move around the board, collecting coins and trading them in for stars, but after every one has gone, you have to play a mini game. The story mode is the same as well, much like Mario Party 7. Bowser sends party invitations to the Mario crew to attend a Bowser mega bash to apologize for his actions when it is really a trap. He then shrinks the crew to ant size. Mario has to go to five large party boards to get bigger again.

I say that this game is intended for the casual gamer, not any body who expects a strategical game play. 3/5

Wii Virtual Console update. 01/14/07

This week for the Wii Virtual Console, the games that have been typically chosen are Pac-Attack for the SNES. What the hec! I don't even know what that game is. The other one is a games for the Turbografix called Riot Zone. I think that Nintendo should come out with more N64 titles like, Majora's Mask, Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Party, and Super Smash Brothers. Until then, I won't download anymore titles from the Wii Shop channel.

Gaming News

Today: January 10th, 2008

TOP STORIES: New Games of 2008?

  1. Super Smash Bros. Delayed Again!!!

  2. Wii Fit is releases May 20th.

  3. Gamer built Nuclear-Reactor?!?!

Top STORY: So what are the hottest games of 2008? Well according to G4 studios, there is going to be a Wii sports 2. Is this true? I am not entirely sure but it is said that it is one of the new games of 2008. What sports will be on the game? How many? Will you have to buy the game separately and if you do how much will it cost? I would buy it even if it cost 50$. I thought that the first Wii Sports game was delightful and it was free. If I have to pay money for it then I expect the game to be five times as great. I would like to see sports like football, soccer, hockey, and volleyball. It would be very funny to see Miis doing that. Gamers including myself are still boffed on whether or not the game is being developed. I think that if they do release it then it will become bundled with the Wii. But hey, I'm not going to go out and but another Wii. A new Naruto fighting game is coming out for the DS sometime in February. The new game features a faster game pace, additional characters, and new content. "Through the innovative use of the dual displays and touch screens, NARUTO: Ninja Destiny will bring the series' iconic battles to players in a way that is only possible on the DS," says Laura Yoshioka

  1. What the hell? Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed again! Why oh Why?!?! This time it was delayed until March 12th. Well that isn't too long away but I think it is ridiculous. This is almost as bad as when Nintendo delayed Twilight Princess for over a year and a half. Nintendo better have a damn good reason for this. Maybe they are going to add more characters or multi player options? i don't know, we'll just have to wait until that time gets here.
  2. Another oddity to the Wii family, Wii Fit, has been set to release May 20Th. With this game you stand on a balance board controller. What happens when a fat person steps on and crushes it to death? Not good. I personally might rent it with a board, or go over to a friend's house who has the game and check it out to see if it is all right. I'm not the casual gamer and don't get very excited over a game where you sprawl about. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to try it for myself.
  3. Wow! I am impressed. This man from Texas who has no job and spends his leisure redesigning games has been visited by the FBI for building a nuclear reactor in his basement. He must be a terrorist then, because that is insane. Why the hell would you want to build a dumb thing like that? To say that you did? Ridiculous!! The man busted himself by posting on his blog that he had possession of Uranium which attracted the bureau to come and investigate. Fortunately for him, he wasn't found guilty for his practice but they took his reactor away. All that is well ends well I guess

Top game list of 2007

What are my top ten games of 2007? Hmm... 2007 was a great year for the gaming industries but I would have to pick,

My List

10. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass -DS With this being the debut game that hit the DS it brought excitement and kept my interest for a while.

9. Halo 3-X-Box 360 I really don't know much about this game but I've played once and it was kick ass!!

8. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption-Wii I've never played any of the Metroid Prime games but after playing this one I will definitely get the next one.

7. Folklore-PS3 This game is mesmerizing. Its crisp and clean graphics can't be beat and its unique battle system brings out the best in Folklore

6. Pokemon Diamond- DS I know what your thinking so just keep it to yourself but I couldn't resist getting the damn game. It is the best game in the series this far but it will be the last time I pick up Pokemon.

5. My Sims-Wii I don't understand why I picked this game up but it brought me hours of game play. This game is for players who enjoy using their minds to construct the greatest city.

4. God of War II- PS2 I don't care if this game came out in 06 this game was great. One of the best action games of all time.

3. Super Mario Galaxy-Wii Like the Previous Super Mario titles, this one did not disappoint but the game can get cheesy looking. Hardcore gamers beware.

2. Guitar Hero III-PS3 I think that the Guitar Hero franchise is the funnest to play. With a mixture of fun and classic rock, this game took me off my feet, but it did piss me off at times.

1. Heavenly Sword-PS3 The title of this game should be called the goddess of war because the main character, Nariko, acts just like Krato's sister. She uses a powerful sword and the best thing is that it is rated teen. I would recommend this game to anybody without thinking twice.

Well that my top ten. What is yours?

Quick News in the gaming Industry

There are many rumors that there is going tobe a new Kingdom Hearts game releasing soon. What do you think? Developers said that the next Kingdom Hearts title would be for the PSP or the Ds, even mobile. If anything, Square Enix needs to take advantage of the PS3's awesome graphics and give birth to a perfect game. The new title is "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep" Everyone seems to be hyped up about it. Here seems to be the main charcter.

Nintendo just can't stop. Recently, Nintendo announced that they are developing a Nintendo Wii phone. What the hec? Wh would Nintendo do something so... weird? Nintendo says that they want to take a shot at competing with some of the top phone companies. What a dumb mistake. Not many people have a Wii, and why the hell would people want a phone shaped like a remote? Supossedly, the phone has the function to play games and is compatible with the Wii console. The whole idea seems bizzare but Nintendo fans will still buy them anyways. What will Nintendo make next, a wii radio that plays game tracks? I hope not, Nintendo made a big hit on the Wii anyways, they don't need anything else.

Nintendo, they'll never stop. Nintendo just announced that soon you'll be able to play your favorite Ds titles on the Wii. The first thing that I thought was, "Wow, how are you going to format Ds controls to operate on the Wii?" Well my question was answered. When Nintendo enables this, you will be able to download demos and trailers to the Ds but then to be deleted once you turn the system off. Nintendo US boss, Reggie-Fils Aime states "To aggressively drive DS buisiness we need to provide other forms of entertainment to excite the consumer." No further details have been released on the topic. Well, since Nintendo is offering trailers and demos, then they should be free.

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!

Which game console do you think rules?

  1. Wii
  2. PS3
  3. X-Box 360
  4. PSP
  5. DS Lite

EMail me your opinions. Thanks
